Description
In most agencies doing winter maintenance around the US the use of ice-control chemicals has become the norm over the last three decades. But what do you want those chemicals to do for your operations? The real secret to understanding chemicals in winter maintenance is to know that we do not use them for melting snow and ice. This talk will look at the key reasons for using chemicals, and given the capabilities of chemicals, how we can make best use of them. As part of this, we will take a look at how solids work and how liquids work differently from solids, how liquids are being used, and what benefits agencies gain from using liquids. Knowing how both solids and liquids work and what they can do for your operations may help you to make those operations both more efficient and more effective.
