Description
This presentation is designed to walk attendees through the NEPA process and provide an understanding of how it can be utilized on State DOT projects. Discussions will provide a background/history of NEPA and its importance to our management of state resources while also combining the federal regulatory framework with environmental laws/policy within the state of North Dakota and local governments.
Speaker(s)
Dr. Christina Hargiss is an Associate Professor and Interim Director of the School of Natural Resource Sciences at North Dakota State University. She specializes in environmental law, specifically NEPA and water law, environmental education and water research. Christina has taught the NDSU NEPA course for the past 13 years and has trained NEPA practitioners across the region on the history of NEPA, its importance, the NEPA process, and writing, editing, and assessing NEPA documents.
Target Audience
All staff involved in project development that are responsible for environmental documentation. Scoping, Designers, Environmental and Maintenance personnel will all benefit from this presentation.
