Slope instability and landslides cause millions of dollars of damage yearly to transportation infrastructure. Instability exists in both natural slopes and man-made fills. This presentation will discuss some common issues with unstable slopes, common ways to identify potential and active slope issues, and how to best handle these areas. Past and current projects/case studies will be shared to illustrate where slope stabilization techniques are being used to keep the earth from sliding and causing future damage.
